The "trans" kid is not biological. It is something manufactured to validate adult delusions. In this piece, I explore how it takes advantage of children's development.
We are the grandparents of now experiencing this ideology in the family. We were told (in a message) last year that our granddaughter (14) was now [gender neutral name] and would go by they/them. There has been no indication in her whole life of a struggle with identity. She is smart, healthy, neither a girly girl nor a tomboy. We have not been allowed to see her since. We voiced our concerns and that was enough to be considered toxic and harmful.
Since then her brother (10) has chosen a very female name to live by. That is all we know about that. He has always been fairly typical a boy - preferred sword play, cars, rough and tumble play, yet also was happy playing with Sylvanian figures and toys with his sister. He is a slightly built lad, with very long hair and has been allowed to wear his sister's cast off dresses if he chooses to, which he did from time to time. His favourite colour is pink, and he loves 'squishies'.
Home life - married parents, mother is a militant feminist, university educated, dad is fully supportive of women's rights and very smart. The kids have been 'homeschooled' and did have regular gatherings with other homeschoolers for education and fun, but that has largely (or totally) disappeared over the last couple of years. We know that the parents are strong advocates for all things LGBTQI+, very familiar and supportive of gender theory and believe gender is a social construct, and have taken the kids to drag story times.
Now I ask - what are the chances of an average family having two kids that are trans? We've been told that the kids ARE TRANS, that's who they are. Not confused, not choosing a different gender, just trans. How do kids come to these conclusions (unless they have been taught and groomed that way)?
We've been reminded that suicide rates in trans people are very high. This came from the parents as a warning that if we don't embrace this choice we are responsible for whatever may happen. Really? With no contact? And what have they told the kids about why they haven't seen us? I can only imagine and it wouldn't be nice. I know everybody says this, but we truly are not mean people, and reassured them that our disagreement with this ideology doesn't change our love for the kids.
We're struggling. And angry that this has all come about because of an theory with has no evidence to support it. We're very concerned for the welfare of the kids, and their parents. Thanks for this persepctive.

And I personally have several activities I enjoy that are typically masculine (like playing drums, and driving a truck). But once you say that men and women are equal in ability, with no differences in what they're capable of doing in work, education, arts, leadership, the next logical steps are what we are seeing now. No difference in sports or athletic ability? No difference in having babies or 'chest feeding'? Men can be nurturers and women can be protectors, of course. But thousands of generations and cultures have lived simply with women nurturing the next generation, and men protecting and providing.

Thanks for some more clarity on this. It was me who used the term radical feminist to describe my daughter, so in reality she has moved into that 3rd/4th wave. It has long mystified me as to why women who have fought so hard for women to receive equal pay for equal work, the right to merit-based awarding of jobs, etc, would be celebrating the men who pretend to be women taking positions away from women, or happily encouraging women to abandon their womanhood to live as men. It still boggles me. Especially when pretend women have pretend periods, and pretend pregnancies, and take time off work 'because I'm on my period'. I find this insulting at best, for those of us who actually traversed the rough waters of puberty.

It may be cold comfort, but at least the citation of frequent trans suicides is a lie. Trans ACLU lawyer Chase Strangio even conceded (he was before the Supreme Court so he had to stop lying) that trans suicides are “thankfully and admittedly rare".

I believe that a great many of these people need psychological support to accept themselves, or to have treatment for true dysphoria.
We can see the tide turning in some spheres, and my husband is pretty convinced that it will come tumbling down soon. I'm less optimistic about the timing. However, we need to try to maintain some thread of attachment so they have a safe space to return to when the time comes.

What happens now with family gatherings? There will always be some people missing. How do the other, younger cousins respond? Their little minds don't have the capacity to comprehend the implications of calling their cousins a different name, or watching whatever outward physical changes happen. Their parents now have to gently navigate the issues that no 2, 3, or 4 year old should be subjected to. This doesn't just affect us, the ripples spread across the family pool.

This is such a good article. It’s full of points I made to my child’s psychiatrist but oh no, my child was diagnosed with gender dysphoria and told the ‘change of gender was likely to be permanent’. Child is autistic with black and white thinking and absolute trust of ‘experts’ so this view has been impossible to shift. The damage done to our family can never be undone. No matter letters they add to that LGBTQIA+ string there are still only two genders, male and female.
Think about it this way:
L (lesbian) someone who is female identifies as female and wishes to be with another female.
G (gay) someone who is male identifies as male and wishes to be with another male.
B (bisexual) someone who is either male or female and identifies as such but could choose to be with either a male or a female.
T (transexual) someone who is either male or female but wishes to identify as the opposite gender.
Q (questioning) someone who is either male or female but is uncertain about which he, or she, would prefer to be.
I (intersexual) someone who has physical characteristics that are both male and female.
A (asexual) someone who is either male or female identifies as such but does to have intimate relations with anyone.
+ Anything that is not included in this list.
